Frozen Mango Margarita

Looking for a refreshing cocktail for the summer season? Give this frozen mango margarita a try. It’s quick, delicious and a real eye catcher. Here are some tips and tricks to make this easy mango cocktail at home.

Coating the Rim

Start by decorating the rim of the glass. It’s nearly impossible to do this after you have poured the drink.

For this recipe, I’m using Tajín. Tajín is a popular Mexican seasoning blend made from chili peppers, dehydrated lime juice and sea salt. If you can’t find Tajín, you can make a simple version yourself by mixing chili flakes with salt and grinding them in a spice grinder or with a pestle and mortar. That said, I do recommend trying to find Tajín, as its spiciness pairs really well with the sweet mango mix.

When coating the rim, make sure not to squeeze the lime too much, otherwise the juice will drip down the glass. Gently rub the flesh of the lime along the edge instead. Then add Tajín to a plate and dip the rim into it. Instead of spreading the Tajín all over the plate, create a small mound and turn the glass into it. This makes coating easier and helps you use less Tajín.

Glasses

Of course, you can use any glass you like, but a margarita glass, a cocktail glass or a coupe works best.
