  • 1 big cucumber 1 big one equals 3 small ones
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp paprika powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • a bit mixed pepper

OPTIONAL

  • 1 clove garlic

TOPPING

  • a bit sesame seeds black and/or white

Instructions

  • Start with the dressing. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, honey, paprika powder, chili flakes and mixed pepper to a bowl and mix.
OPTIONAL: Grate some garlic and mix it in with a spoon or fork.
  • Clean and cut the cucumber by removing the ends, slicing it lengthwise and cutting it into thin slices. Add the cucumber to the dressing.
  • Let the cucumber soak for at least 10 minutes. Strain the cucumber and serve it in a deep bowl or on a plate. Add some sesame seeds on top.

Notes

For this recipe, I used a Zigzag cutter because it creates edges that help the sauce stick better after cutting.

Enjoy!

I often make this to have on the side with a rice dish and it’s such a nice addition to the meal, and so quick and easy to make too
