Equipment

Ingredients
 

FRIED CAMEMBERT

  • 1 camembert
  • 1 egg
  • 40 grams bread crumbs
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • a bit salt & pepper
  • a bit olive oil

CROUTONS

  • 1 bread roll or slice of bread
  • a bit olive oil
  • ½ tsp thyme or rosemary
  • a bit salt & pepper

VINAIGRETTE

  • ½ tbsp honey
  • ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • a pinch salt & pepper

TOPPING

  • 2 tbsp walnuts
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
  • 1 tbsp honey OPTIONAL

LETTUCE

  • 175 grams lettuce

Instructions

CAMEMBERT – preparation

  • Grab a small bowl. Crack an egg and add salt, pepper and garlic powder. Use a fork to beat the eggs.
  • Grab a plate. Add bread crumbs to the plate add spread it evenly.
  • Unwrap the camembert cheese. Dip the cheese in the egg mixture and make sure all parts are covered with egg.
  • Dip the camembert in the bread crumbs and use a spoon to cover all sides.
  • Repeat; dip back into the egg mixture and then cover with bread crumbs afterwards. Set aside on a plate or leave it resting in the bread crumbs.

VINAIGRETTE

  • Add to a big mixing bowl; vinegar, olive oil, honey, salt and pepper. Use a fork to mix all ingredients.
  • Add lettuce and mix the vinaigrette with the lettuce.

WALNUTS

  • Heat up a frying pan on high heat.
  • Chop the walnuts or crush them by hand. Add the walnuts to the frying pan and toast them until dark brown. Do not use any oil. Set aside.

CROUTONS

  • Chop the bread bun on bread slice in small dices.
  • Heat up a frying pan on medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Add thyme to the oil.
  • Add bread dices. Fry until crispy and set aside to cool down.

CAMEMBERT – frying

  • Heat up a frying pan on medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Add the camembert. Flip once the bottom is golden brown.
  • Add a lid once both sides are golden brown and switch off heat. Let the cheese melt in the pan for 6-8 minutes.

SERVING

  • Add the lettuce to a plate but keep the centre free. Add the camembert to the middle of the plate. Add croutons to the lettuce and honey on top of the camembert. Add toasted walnuts and some pomegranate seeds.

Notes

WARNING; this is a calorie bomb but so delicious! :-p
