I love making matcha at home, but I know it’s not for everyone. Matcha has a very specific taste that some people love, while others find it taste like grass or sushi. One thing I have learned over the years is that the quality of matcha can vary a lot depending on the brand.
I finally found a brand I really like, and I have been using this brand for years now and even started gifting it to friends. It is a nice present to bring when you are hosted somewhere, especially since it comes in these beautiful small boxes that look as good as it tastes like.
This mango matcha drink is served cold and it’s super nice to drink on a warm summer day. I make it by blending frozen mango with a bit of water and use then my hand blender. I don’t own a traditional matcha set, so I just whisk the powder and boiling water in a bowl with a fork, which works fine as well.
For the milk, I use a coconut drink. To froth it, you need a milk foamer that works with cold milk, as that gives it a nice texture. I have been using my new Alessi foamer, which I got for my birthday, and it’s perfect for this recipe.
I like this recipe because the sweetness of the mango goes well with the earthy flavour of the matcha. It gives together with the coconut milk a nice tropical twist.
