Hot Aperol with White Wine and Christmas Spices

Ingredients
- 180 ml aperol
- 750 ml white wine pinot grigio (or any other)
- 1 orange
- 3 stars anise
- 2 stick cinnamon
- 12 cloves
- 5 pods cardamom
- 5 berries all spice aka piment
Instructions
- Cut a thick orange slice, about 1 cm (0.5 inch) thick.
- Pinch the cloves into the orange slice. Squeeze the rest of the orange for juice.
- Heat a pot over low to medium heat. Pour in the white wine and Aperol. Add the orange slice, anise, cinnamon, cardamom and allspice. Cover the pot with a lid.
- Let the mixture simmer for 15 minutes on low-medium heat. Do not boil. Serve hot.
