Crodino Spritz (Non Alcoholic)

crodino spritz

Ciao a tutti! I’ll show you in this post how to make a Crodino Spritz, one of my current favourite non alcoholic drinks. It’s made with Crodino, a popular Italian non alcoholic aperitif. It has a refreshing bittersweet flavour that makes it perfect for a summer day or for your aperitivo hour.

I would recommend you to try this mocktail if you are looking for a non alcoholic spritz recipe that feels like a party in a glass.

What is Crodino?

Crodino is a non alcoholic Italian aperitif made from a secret recipe that has remained unchanged since 1965.

It is made from an infusion of herbs and fruits, including cardamom, cloves, coriander and nutmeg. Crodino has citrus notes, especially orange zest and grapefruit, with hints of ginger and vanilla. These ingredients are mixed with water, sugar and carbon dioxide to create a light sparkle. It is known for its bittersweet taste and bright orange colour.

Is Crodino alcoholic?

No, Crodino is completely alcohol free. It’s a sparkling Italian aperitif with zero alcohol.

What does Crodino taste like?

Think of Campari and Aperol and imagine those bittersweet drinks combined, but without alcohol. That’s how I would describe the taste of Crodino.

Crodino Spritz recipe

I use a non alcoholic Prosecco for this recipe. A great option is Nozeco, a French alcohol free sparkling wine produced by Les Grands Chais de France near Bordeaux. It’s widely available across Europe and works really well in this drink.

Crodino Spritz variations

You can easily adapt this recipe depending on what you have at home. Use tonic water instead of non alcoholic Prosecco for a slightly more bitter, lighter version. Or choose a non alcoholic sparkling white wine instead.

Serving tips for a Crodino Spritz

I like to serve this Crodino mocktail in a large wine glass to give it that classic aperitivo look. It’s especially good on a warm day, so don’t skip the ice cubes.

I recommend grapefruit or blood orange for a slightly bitter edge, paired with fresh thyme for a subtle herbal aroma.

A small trick: heat the thyme with the flame of a lighter. Move the flame over the leaves for one or two seconds. This releases the oils and makes the aroma much more intense.
